EURO-MAPS 3D & IRS-P5 DEM

EURO-MAPS 3D and IRS-P5 DEM include a series of 3D products derived from IRS-P5 Cartosat-1 stereo imagery, as distributed by Euromap GmbH, Neustrelitz. The DEM offers high resolution grid postings of 5-12m at high positional accuracy, which show much more detail than 30m DTED Level 2 class products.



Within the European IRS data reception footprint, the tile-based product EURO-MAPS 3Dis available as a high-quality edited and mosaicked DEM, which builds up a seamless and continuously growing elevation database for all of Europe and parts of northern Africa. For most areas the DEM is derived from multiple overlapping stereopairs, an additional asset that further enhances product reliability.

For worldwide areas outside the European footprint IRS-P5 DEM can be made available as a scene based product, based on a fewer number of source stereopairs but with similar specifications. All products include full metadata, quality and traceability layers. Optionally, they can be delivered with the respective 2.5m orthoimage, showing exactly the same geometry as the DEM. The ortho image can be very useful to verify height information as presented in the DEM and as an accurate source of geometric reference for other geo-data layers.

Additional products can be delivered on request (e.g. stereo imagery, DTM, extracted 3D features, city block models). We can also offer integrated 3D terrain visualisations based on dedicated GAF geodata viewing software. For further information please contact euromaps [at] gaf [dot] de .
