In 2003, GAF AG became a Telespazio S.p.A. subsidiary and is now part of the Finmeccanica - Thales Group. As a result of this integration, GAF's portfolio has expanded considerably and includes now many new solutions and services. Thus GAF offers satellite communication solutions - in particular VSAT and BGAN services in the land-mobile and maritime sectors. The maritime projects are managed by a dedicated office in Hamburg where experienced engineers ensure professional implementation in line with established GAF standards.
GAF AG can draw on Telespazio's 40 years of experience in satellite services relating to communications and operations. With more than 30,000 VSAT systems installed, Telespazio is one of the largest satellite service providers worldwide. Telespazio's Teleport in Fucino, Italy is one of the main operational centres for mobile Inmarsat and Iridium services.
GAF AG is an authorised Inmarsat Service Provider since January 2010.
