Feels like home at work - #likehomeatwork

Greetings from our GAF Mobile Space. Most of us have safely landed there. We grabbed our gear, switched on our communication devices and beamed at the first sight of another GAF-human on our screens.

Yes, „we are fully operational“.

Completely independent from any company-dock-in, we manage daily to deal with familiar data- and Earth Observation challenges.

Entry into our GAF-LogBook:

„We find it exciting to see how new conditions change our everyday work. For the moment and to this extent they are of course limited to the duration of this emergency situation.

But they certainly provide an excellent basis for further modernization and flexibilization of our work environment for the time thereafter. We take this positive approach together“

Euro-Maps 3D DSM now also available via the Copernicus Data Access Portfolio

ESA, the European Space Agency, has added the Euro-Maps 3D DSM (digital surface model) product with 5 m post spacing to the Copernicus Data Access Portfolio (DAP) (see latest DAP document, Annex 6), thus making it available to Copernicus Services, Union Institutions and Union Research Projects through the Copernicus Data Warehouse (DWH). Euro-Maps 3D DSM provides a homogeneous quality, particularly suitable for large-scale, trans-national applications such as hydrologic modelling, infrastructure, network planning, risk mapping and the exploration of natural resources.

Multi-Stereo VHR DSM: fast generation of 3D information based on multi-stereo VHR satellite data

After a successful multi-stereo new acquisition over Lisbon by European Space Imaging, GAF generated within a very short time a fully textured digital surface model with exceptional 30 cm resolution.

As a prompt delivery of elevation models based on highly current VHR satellite images is crucial for high-profile customers and their specific applications - Multi-Stereo VHR DSM meets the challenge: This high-quality product provides standardized, accurate and reliable 3D information that can be made available for any place in the world within a very short time.

Currently already more than 200 cities worldwide are available as either 30 cm or 50 cm digital surface models.

GAF AG to establish the new Mining Cadastre in Chad

After prevailing against international competition in the tendering process, GAF has been awarded the contract to set-up a reliable and efficient mining cadastre system in Chad. This includes the provision of institutional strengthening measures and capacity building regarding the management of mining titles both centrally and at the local level. In the project, GAF will integrate its leading platform for cadastral solutions, eMC+, which will be customised to suit the needs of the Ministry of Mines, Development of Industry and Commerce and Promotion of Private Sector (MMDICPSP) and its agencies.  An important factor for the long-term sustainability of the project is the availability of the system’s source code.
